Donut Suria
Found this recipe at Mamafami. You can also find it in quite a number of blogs. Sure is popular. Discovered from Apron of Love that this recipe is by Pn.Suria Insani of Resepi.net. Just as others have said in their blogs, this recipe is soo easy… only my donut doesn’t look as chubby as theirs.
(A)
200ml lukewarm water
2 tsp instant dry yeast
20ml water ~ extra (if needed)
(B)
3 cups flour
3 tbsp milk powder
3 tbsp shortening/margarine
3 tbsp castor sugar
1. Mix well ingredients in (A).
2. Pour into ingredients (B) and knead till smooth and shiny.
3. Roll to about 1/2 cm thick and cut with the donut cutter.
4. Leave to prove for about 1/2 hour.
5. Fry on medium heat till golden brown.
6. Coat with sugar.
Note: I did not have any shortening or margarine at the time. So, I just used vegetable oil and add about 1/2 tsp salt. (I thought maybe, without shortening or margarine, it would make my donut less tasty. That’s why, I had added the salt..??)
