Trip to Genting Highlands

Genting Skyway Cable Cars

Kalau tak cakap, mungkin tak perasan gambar atas ni, ada gambar cable car. Tu.. yang kenit-kenit square shape.

It’s been a very busy week. I have not had the chance to sit in front of the computer ever since Saturday. Last Saturday, 8 March, was polling day. On Sunday, we went to Genting Highlands. Then on Tuesday & Wednesday we were at my mom’s house. My mom, my sister and me are going for umrah and we need to settle our passport at the immigration department. And yesterday, after all the buzz and running around, I was down with a flu.

Hubby had been very busy helping out since the Election Commission announced the polling date. He had been coming home between 12 to 2 in the morning since last week. He stayed up till 2 in the morning for the results. I manage to wait till midnight then ….zzzzZZ. The Genting trip was a last minute plan. Hubby said he would be occupied the next few weekends. Naja will be going for her class camping trip this Friday. And Umar has tuition classes. So, the only time for the family outing is that Sunday. By 12.00, we were on our way to Genting.

An aerial view from the cable car

Memories… I had been to Genting with hubby before. (14 years ago) We had just got married then, about 2 weeks. We borrowed his father’s old Opel to go all the way up to the peak. Somewhere before we reached the peak, the engine began heating up. So we had to stop a few times to cool off the engine. Just as we reached the peak, the car stopped and would not start again. There was already a line of cars lining up behind us by then. Luckily, there was people kind enough to help push the car to the side. It was really embarrassing but something to remember. And some stories to tell the kids.

Nuha and a background of the tropical rain forest This time, we’re going up in the cable car. Not because of the experience we had. We wanted the children to experience the cable car. I had been in a cable car before, when we went to Sentosa Island in Singapore. It was all a different experience this time. The Genting Skyway cable car was stretched more than 3 km. It’s the longest-stretch cable car in Southeast Asia. (The children was thrilled all the way up but next time, I will suggest the car all way up.)

Genting Highlands at the peak - 2.00 pm

We reached the top at about 2.00 pm. The sun shine occasionally, but most of the time the peak was covered in fog. It did not rain when we arrived but later it rained heavily. We spent most of the time in the indoor theme park. Naja wanted to go to the snow house. She must joking. Brrrgh….. The boys settled for the bumper car. Naja finally volunteered herself to accompany the little ones for the deer ride. There was not enough time for other games as the time was occupied queueing. So, by 6.00 pm, after asar prayer, we were in the cable car heading downhill. If you really want to have a go for more games at the park, you should start out early.

Trip ni tak diplan awal. Jadi agak kelam kabut juga mama dibuat nak menyediakan keperluan. Tapi alhamdulillah, bergerak juga. Anak-anak memang seronok naik cable car. Yang takut cuma Yusuf & mama. Suspen je muka dia. Mama pulak, memang jenis gayat. Tak bergerak langsung. Nak pergi Genting ni sebenarnya, bajet kena cukup.
