Dapat ni dari emailku. Selepas menjejakkan kaki ke tanah suci 3 bulan lalu, apa2 subjek mengenainya memang pasti akan menggamit perhatian. Benarlah kata orang.. sesapa yang pernah menjejakkkan kaki ke sana pasti akan merindui utk ke sana lagi.Peliknya sebelum pergi, perasaan tu biasa sahaja.. tentulah as a muslim .. teringin nak kesana tu memang ada, tapi tak expect perasaan tu jadi begitu terkesan. Tak kenal maka tak cinta … Bila dah kenal.. sentiasa merindu. Kata ustaz, yang sampai kesana dijemput oleh Allah. Mereka kesana sebagai tetamu Allah. Setiap hamba mendapatkan kesempatan yang berbeza dengan hamba yang lain. Takde duit pun Allah bagi kesempatan.  Moga2 dapat kesana lagi.

Hilang 5 lbs Dalam Seminggu

Ni bukan diet bukan2. Dah hampir 2 bulan ikut regime ni. Tak makan diet pill or tepek apa2 krim. Just healthy diet and exercise. Alhamdulillah dah turun 5 kg. Mudah2an dapat maintain. Taklah hilang 5 lbs dlm 1 week tapi 1 month. Tapi kira ok and feel very happy. Nasihatnya jangan too obsessed or stressed yourself out. Just take things easy walaupun tak achieve full target of the day. Cuma peruut and peha ni yg liat sikit. Maklumlah anak dah 6. Tapi hubby dah puji sket. Kembang..he..he.. Cubalah routine ni. Haa.. ada tip2 lain kat ujung.

When you shop for the food ensure you only buy what you intend to eat.
The secret to losing weight is to eat up to four meals in a day, with attention focused on varying the calorific intake of each meal. It is also advisable to include a good mix of proteins, complex carbohydrates and fruit and vegetables in the meal, the body will work the scientific bit out by itself. Mixing up the order in which calorific values are eaten increases your metabolic rate and more fat is burned. When trying to lose weight in such a short space of time it is not unreasonable to cut out all the ‘naughty’ foods which may normally hinder attempts to lose weight. Snacks, candy, soda’s and alcohol are all detrimental to the waistline and when possible should be avoided during the sacrificial 7 days.
Resist the Temptation
Even 7 days can be a difficult challenge when trying to lose weight, and many will long to see their hard earned results, but not without suffering along the way. Resist the temptation to give in to food cravings by drinking a glass of water or brushing your teeth as both actions will take the focus off of food long enough for the craving to pass.
Put your outfit out on show to remind you that you intend to look amazing in at the end of the 7 days. Don’t be tempted to try it on and steer clear of the weighing scales. On day 7 you will be rewarded with a visual loss of weight both numerically and in how you look and feel about yourself.
Keep Up the Good Work
If you’ve achieved your 5 pound weight loss in the nominated week, you may want to consider sustaining certain newly adopted habits indefinitely. Don’t make life miserable depriving yourself of your culinary treats and vices. If you eat sensibly and exercise regularly the majority of the time, the treats will feel far more worth it.
It’s all about self control and personal willpower. If you want to lose weight for yourself then nobody should get in your way. Success is as possible as you make it.

Tip lain:

  • Waktu tengok TV jgn duduk selambak kat sofa tu. Buat exercise setempat. Janji rasa muscle kita work out tak kiralah tangan ke, kaki ke or pinggang.
  • Kalau dulu mkn nasi penuh satu pinggan kurangkan sikit2. Jgn mengejut.
  • Banyakkan makan sayur dulu sblm jamah nasi ngan lauk. Nak senang mkn timun. Tenaga yg diperlu nak hadamkan timun tu lebih banyak dari tenaga yg diberi dari timun yg kita makan tu.
  • Jgn dok lama2 kat meja mkn. Tendencynya kita cubit sket2 tapi in the end hmm..Exceptionlah sekali sekala bila ada gathering. Sbb tu jgn kerap no gi gathering.
  • Selalu tarik perut ke dalam. Insyaallah perut tegang dan tak gelebeh. Tapi sori ye.. klu nak betoi2 nak hilang 5 inci, pegilah Marie-France hu..hu..
  • Makan dan kunyah pelan2. Ingatkan ni rezki dari Allah. Insyaallah ada keberkatannya.
  • Doa dan niatkan supaya badan slim utk che abang serta badan jadi sihat dan kuat utk kita laksanakan ibadah.

Durians

Local Malaysian fruits season is back. Around this time (May to Aug every year), that’s Summer for most people above the Equator, Malaysia bears its best. And below I have included some photos of the famous DURIAN, only found in Malaysia and Thailand, I am made to understand. Many tourists from especially the Western countries cannot bear its strong smell but to us locals, nothing beats the durian hands down, the taste and smell….. oooooo, so marvelous. If any of you are comng to Malaysia, make a point to look (and eat) for durians, that’s pronounced DOO-REE-YARN.

Musim buah datang lagi. Three weeks hubby keje kat Perak, dah 3 times bawak balik durian. Gi kebun atok Salim pun bawak balik durian . Gi rumah maktok, pakuda belanja lagi durian kat pasar malam. Tak jemu2 makan durian. Nasib baik buah durian, bukan steak! Kalau tak .. kantoi dietku.

Ingat masa kecik dulu, kalau abah beli durian, semua adik beradik berkeliling depan durian. Masing2 nak cuba skil robek durian. Ada yang luka pun masih tak serik2 nak cuba kopek. Seronok!! Sekarang ni, anak2 sendiri pulak berebut nak kopek durian. Paling suka durian kalau rasanya pahit2 sket. Durian kampung. Tapi anak2 tak gemar kalau pahit tu. Di pasnye kat kite suruh peghabis.

Cantiknya!! Buah ni hasil usaha atok Salim (my pak mertua) utk anak cucu.

Sedapnye!! Jemput makan…..

Haa.. Dah banyak sangat?!!

Buat pulak kuah durian..

Nama pun musim buah.. Manggis dan rambutan pun tak kalah.

Menurut kajian saikologi, apa yang disebut sebelum tidur dapat dirakamkan sepanjang tidur sehingga keesokan harinya - CUBALAH!!).

8. Berpuasa - Sekiranya dalam berpuasa terhindar dari melakukan perkara-perkara kejahatan.

9. Cuba ingat tentang mati (Sekiranya hendak melakukan sesuatu kejahatan, tidak sampai hati kerana bimbang akan mati bila- bila masa).

I Feel Good!!

I must give myself a big clap. I jogged this morning. Just before I posted “Pesanan Umrah”. Three rounds of two blocks of houses for 40 minutes. Hey.. no big deal?!! I haven’t jog for many, many years. There was a few exercises, at home.. “Flat stomach in 28 days” tried out for almost a week, then….. There was “Paula Abdul Cardio Dance”, never manage to follow successfully the steps or the way they move.

The coming umrah which actually motivated me to go jogging. But my right thighs feels so tight now. The vericose veins is quite bad on the right leg. It never subsided after the birth of my fourth one. Hope it will be OK by tomorrow. Nevertheless, the jogging made me feel really good. I feel much more energetic running upstairs & downstairs.

Actually I haven’t been walking on the ground for the last few weeks. My head seemed to be swimming with so many things. Because of that state of mind, my house too seemed to turned topsy-turvy. No..no..no more. Hope I will be high-spirited up to the day I leave for umrah.

Pesanan Umrah

Dalam kursus yg saya pergi beberapa minggu lalu, ustaz ada menerangkan tentang salah satu doa yg digalakkan ketika berada di hadapan makam Rasullullah saw. Doa tersebut adalah ‘memohon agar diakhiri hayat kita disitu, dihadapan makam Rasulullah saw.’

Saya tersentak apabila ustaz menyebutkan tentang doa ini. Berdebar2 terasa jantung saya pada ketika itu. Sebelum tu memang tengah seronok mencatatkan segala doa dan amalan yg wajib dan sunat dilaksanakan. Selepas itu fikiran saya asyik teringatkan tentang doa ini.

Dengan malunya saya mengakui rupanya betapa lemahnya iman saya ketika disebut tentang kematian. Rupa-rupanya saya tidak mampu untuk minta dimatikan ketika itu. Hati dan fikiran langsung teringat kepada anak2, suami , rumah dan macam2 hidup kita kat dunia ni. Begitulah lemahnya iman saya ni. Sebenarnya saya tertanya2 bagaimanakah perasaan mereka yg mendengar tentang pesanan ini.

Hujung minggu yang last baru ni, barulah saya dapat kesempatan berborak dengan adik saya yg pergi sama ke kursus tu. Adik bongsu saya ni, kami anggap macam ustazah dalam keluarga, mungkin sebab dulu dia sekolah Maahad di Kota Bahru sedangkan kami adik beradik yg lain semuanya sekolah convent.

Saya luahkanlah apa2 dlm pikiran ni. Dia pun senyum dan kata mmg dia sendiri pun bila disebut tentang kematian, fikiran dia jugak melayang kat tugasan yg masih belum beres. Dia ni ejen takaful. Tapi adik cakap, dia pergi lagi minggu selepas itu, ustaz kata siapa2 yg ada keberanian…, berdoalah begitu…, jika tidak, berdoalah ‘dimana jua kita dimatikan, roh kita akan dibawa kehadapan makam Rasulullah saw, seolah2 kita mati dihadapan Rasullulah saw’. (Begitulah faham saya..Harap2 yg saya sampaikan ini betul)

Rupa-rupanya bukan mudah ye, nak sebut pasal mati apatah lagi nak minta mati. Saya cuma harap dan berdoa agar Allah swt tidak meninggalkan saya, dan sentiasa memberi hidayah-Nya sehinggalah saya menghembus nafas yg terakhir.


Harga Beras Naik..

(Psst.. harga beras naik. Husbeng I kata, kita makan potato jelah. Murah..)

Haa.. dinner semalam rice cooker ku tidoqlah. Nak jimat beras, saya pun prepare baked potato..hhah..hah..hah. Makan westernlah kami semalam. Baked potato & brown sauce, crispy fried chicken (tak dan nak buat chicken chop) & coleslaw. Tak sempat snap gambar ayam dah terbang masuk pinggan. (Coleslaw tu pakai susu pekat.. susu  takde. Idea dari resepi udang Mayo kakMin)

Saya sebenarnya tak faham pasal harga beras naik. Berkait dengan krisis makanan sedunia ke? Sebelum krisis pun, ramainya umat manusia kebuluran dek takde makanan. Apatah lagi dalam keadaan sekarang. Kita ni, walaupun mengeluh tapi masih mampu beli beras. Mudah-mudahan kita akan lebih menghargai nasi dan tidak membazir. Didik anak terutamanya kerana biasanya mereka sering ambil nasi berlebihan tetapi tidak menghabiskannya.

Selain, jangan membazir makanan, ada yg suruh makan nasi selang sehari. Ada orang tak tahan kalau tak jumpa nasi dlm sehari. (Psst.. mama pikir…daripada selang sehari.. baik seminggu sekali.. he..he.. kurus cepat sikit). Amacam.. boleh tahan makan nasi seminggu sekali???

Of Musa’s Birthday & My Chocolate Cake

PART I

FriendsCelebrated Musa’s b’day last Saturday. Birthday dia on 24th …. Thursday. Invitation was at 2.00 pm (later 2.15pm ..psst.. just to give me a little bit more time to get things organized). Playmates around the neighbourhood came - Luqman Hakim, Luqman Zariff, Ijam, Muaz and Hakimi. Absent - Faris went for MSSM school trip, Amat tidoq, Ahmad Cikgu Adnan (oops..sorry lupa nak jemput). Others – Lisa, Fikri, Sarah, Nana & Balkish “Please excuse makcik. Takut tak boleh cater…”

So came the boys…….. AT 12.00!!! Had to make them go away.. told them to go home first or play ping pong at the Surau.

PART II

My cake was baked the day before. I had planned to fill the chocolate cake with blueberry fillings and the whipped cream (I used a non-dairy whipping cream) I had used it a few times. Whipped up very nicely. . The filling was quite nicely done…. Then the frosting. It was supposed to be chocolate ganache .. just pour it on the cake.. had done it so many times.. BUT this itchy fingers just wanted to try something different (next time Mama .. don’t try anything new on that very occasion .. knock yr head)

Hahh..hhahhaaa.. I’m cryinglah.. I mixed the melted chocolate into the already whipped non-dairy whipping cream. It curdled almost immediately. Panic2…

Hidangan

Alhamdullillah, there was another half of the chocolate left. No more unwhipped whipping cream, no more milk, not even butter.. only Mother’s Choice spread (bolehlah). Melted the chocos & added some margarine spread. Then, there it goes on the cake. Not the cake I imagined for this occasion but bolehlah.

(Nasib baik tetamuku budak2.. kalau tak aahh)

PART III

Started the b’day with Walid reading the doa’. Quite a long one too.. touched my heart as I look at my children and their friends. THEN… cut the cake. Apologised to the kids for the ‘not the usual cake’ they see on birthdays. But hey!! They came back for a second piece.

MiKariI had prepared mee kari earlier. Thanks KakCik for the mee kari recipe. Hubby said the gravy was very nice. Guest the boys were really hungry. They had two go at the cake and gulp down two bowls of the noodles. Hope they say their Bismillah…
The mee kari… will post it at COOKIN buzz.

Menanti Perjalanan Umrahku

InsyaAllah , saya, adik, mak dan mak saudara akan  ke Tanah Suci nak menunaikan umrah. Mak dan abah yang sponsor. Kalau sendiri memang belum berkemampuan. Alhamdulillah, hati saya antara berat nak meninggalkan anak dan berdebar2 kerana excited nak pergi. Takut pun ada, risau pun ada, gembira pun ada, macam-macamlah ada..

 

Dua minggu lalu pergi kursus di Andalusia kat Jalan Belangkas. Dulu suami pergi umrah tak kursus pun. Katanya tak susah sangat. Tapi alhamdullillah … pergi kursus tu, dah tak blur sangat dah. At least kita dah tahu what can we expect dlm perjalanan ini, supaya kita lebih bersedia. Sediakan kekuatan fizikal..kekuatan hati dan jiwa. Kekadang orang ambil mudah bila pergi umrah. Pergi umrah macam pergi sightseeing.

 

Ikut kursus ni baru faham. Walaupun menunaikan umrah itu bukan rukun dan wajib..tapi jika kita nak menunaikan .. rukun2nya perlulah complete. Perkara yg wajib mesti ditunaikan. Jgn silap2, balik Malaysia rupanya ada perkerjaan umrah yang tak selesai.. tak bayar dam.. dan sebagainya

 

….Mudah-mudahan dapat dikerjakan dengan baik, insyaAllah…..
